International Student

An international student is a foreign applicant who plans to apply for a nonimmigrant visa, or is currently in the U.S. on a valid nonimmigrant visa. An International Graduate Applicant is not a citizen or permanent resident of the U.S. (or applicant for permanent residency). Knowledge Systems Institute Graduate School (KSI) accepts F, H, and B nonimmigrant visa applicants.

For international students interested in pursuing a Master of Science degree in Computer and Information Sciences, the application process includes three essential requirements that an international applicant must have. Firstly, a four-years bachelor’s degree with an accumulative GPA of a 2.75, though, it need not be in the computer science and information sciences field. KSI offers prerequisite courses at an undergraduate level for those who have backgrounds other than computer and information sciences. Additionally, international students must provide proof of English language proficiency in the form of a valid Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or The International English Language Testing System, or IELTS. The required TOEFL score for admissions is an 80 internet-Based Test (80iBT) or the required IELTS band of 6.5. International transfer students that have completed a degree from the U.S are exempt from the IELTS/TOEFL requirement. Lastly, international students are ineligible for government issued student loans and thus, must provide original financial statement documents verifying their capability to afford schooling at KSI.

KSI provides Curricular Practical Training and Optional Practical Training to eligible international students.
